David Rubin has been a Ketchikan resident since 1983. He is one of Ketchikan's most prominent practicing artists. His murals, paintings and drawings can be seen in local business establishments, offices, schools, government buildings and private collections. He is a sought-after teacher of art in the schools of Ketchikan and other Southeast Alaska communities and has privately conducted numerous successful classes and workshops in painting and drawing.
Artist's Statement:
The face of Southeast Alaska, the faces of the people here, I want to paint both.
Dockside Gallery is proud to show and sell David's work. He is a strong contributor to the arts in Ketchikan. Beside's painting and teaching, David's other talents find him playing a sweltering saxaphone in local nightspots with the Potlatch Band, and acting in the local theater.
