| These gourmet quality pottery tableware shells are individually hand sculpted out of high-fired stoneware clay. They are food and oven safe so that wonderful seafoods can be baked and presented "in the shell". The shells are also microwave and dishwasher safe! They are highly durable and colors do not fade.
Each shell piece is an original. The adornments that you see on each shell, like the starfish, barnacles and seaweed are all hand made and applied by hand. Each piece, while as part of a collection is uniform in shape and size so that they match, they are also individually hand glazed, so there is variation in pattern and color . Jan has been a potter for over 20 years, her focus has become creating a series of westcoast shells. Mike had been a commercial fisherman for 16 years, running his own boat and trucking business. Now they work together in Campbell River, B.C. at their home based studio creating these wonderful shells. |
