Weighing 40 tons, a Humpback whale has enormous strength and stamina. I once observed one breach repeatedly in Icy Strait, near Glacier Bay, Alaska. It launched itself over 100 times as I  watched it disappear into the sunset from our passing boat. I stopped counting as it continued breaching out of my field of vision.
