10"x14" | canvas giclee This painting came out of an experience I had while guiding a photographer from National Geographic. I had taken him up to Short Creek to look for salmon to photograph underwater and suddenly the hair on the back of my neck stood on end. I could tell we were being watched and, sure enough, we eventually saw a very large brown bear looking at us through the salmonberry bushes. We slowly switched courses and made our way back to our inflatable raft with the bear matching us step for step from an uncomfortably close distance. If you look closely, you can see that brown bear lurking behind the salmonberry bushes.
